Avid in partnership with GlobalLogic is opening a Product Engineering Lab in Ukraine.
It's easy to join our team if you have 4+ years of design and implementation experience using Java, 3+ of experience writing server-side applications that interface to RDBMS databases. The ideal candidate would have several years of experience with MS SQL 2005 or MS SQL 2008 and would also have experience using Hibernate. 2+ of experience in JEE application development, specifically light-weight server development using Sprint*Hibernate or equivalent EJB 3.0 technologies. Experience writing interfacing code to an LDAP server. Experience with accessing LDAP from a Java application and experience with ApacheDS is desirable. Strong OO-design and -programming skills and experience writing software using Test-Driven Development principals. Experience developing using a SCRUM process. A proven track record to work independently, though collaboratively and a willingness to learn. Fluency in English (both spoken and written) and the ability to communicate efficiently in English via both phone and e-mail is a must. Experience with working in a distributed team, across several time zones, and a centralised source control system (preferably Accurev) is an advantage.
Given a detailed design specification, the successful candidate must be able to create and execute a detailed implementation plan with well-defined milestones. The ideal candidate posses exceptional analytical ability and is an experienced domain expert who not only is skilled in writing and unit-testing Java code, but also is able to identify and package sub-tasks that are suitable junior engineers. The ideal candidate will be able to anticipate and proactively remove development obstacles, prioritizing tasks such that the team successfully delivers milestones.
Candidates must be able to communicate efficiently with other development teams in Germany and the US. Travel to development locations for coordination purposes will be required during the length of the project, esp. during the definitions and integration phase.
